Urunga Sail Training Club

New Sailing Courses Start May 11, 2024
– book here to secure a place.

At the Urunga Sail Training Club, you can learn to sail and discover sailing no matter what your ability. We are the only not-for-profit Australian Sailing (AS) certified Small Boat Sailing Screen Shot 2018-01-16 at 12.55.10 PMSchool on the NSW North Coast, teaching AS Start Sailing 1 & 2 in small boats on the Kalang and Bellinger Rivers at URUNGA (20kms south of Coffs Harbour).
The USTC is a family orientated club catering to all ages and abilities. Our Australian Sailing qualified instructors can teach you skills in how to rig and control a sailing-vessel, read the wind and tides, and learn sailing techniques on the safe and beautiful waters of the Kalang and Bellinger Rivers.

Want to become a member:

You don’t even have to own a boat. The Urunga Sail Training Club has its own training boats, and one of the benefits of membership to the Club is that sailing members with experience can use them when they are not being used for teaching. Membership gives you a heads-up on new sailing courses and events happening at the Club and discounts on using the Club facilities when not being used for training.

Our fully accessible facilities include: Some off-street parking, toilets, and changing facilities for persons of all abilities.

Urunga Sail Training Club is a Volunteer organisation

We always need more volunteers to assist with things behind the scenes on our Committee with things like clerical, writing grants, helping on sailing days and fundraising, assisting in boat repairs, working bees, and social Sailing days. It is not a prerequisite that you need to be a sailor, as any assistance is gratefully appreciated. The current committee welcomes any new skills set that you can offer.

The club cannot survive without you, so get involved.

Contact the Secretary: Kerry Ridgley 0490 349 378 urungasailtraining@gmail.com

Membership fees are due.

Australian Sailing membership expires on the 31st of October.

Here is the Membership form for 2023-2024.

Your Membership gives you a heads-up on the new sailing courses and events happening at the Club, includes your use of Club boats (sailing members only) and discounts on using the Club’s facilities when not being used for training purposes.

Course Fees and Membership fees do not cover the cost of keeping the doors open at the Club. As a not for profit, we try and keep the memberships and course fees low as we can because we would like sailing to be accessible to everyone and hope that you enjoy getting out on the water as much as we do.
